Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 3 cups sugar
- Zest and juice of 1/2 orange
- Zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
- Zest and juice of 1/2 lime
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 cardimom pods
- 1/2 tsp corriander seed
- 2 star anise
- 1/4 cup Jamaican browning sauce (NOT the browing and spice sauce for gravies)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Combine the water, sugar, orange zest, lime zest, lemon zest, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, corriander seeds, and star anise in a large saucepan and place over medium-high heat. Whisk until the sugar has dissolved and then bring to a boil. REduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and strain into an airtight container. Add the orange, lime, and lemon juices (it should be about 1/3 cup juice total). Mix in the browning sauce and vanilla extract. Once cooled, cover and store in refridgerator for at least 12 hours and up to 2 weeks.
To make a glass of Nuka cola:
Add 5-7 tbsp of Nuka-Cola syrup with 1 cup seltzer water and ice, then stir together.
Notes:
I find that 1.5 ounces of syrup for each 4 ounces of seltzer water makes a perfect glass.
Seriously, do not use browning and seasoning sauce. Grace browning sauce is one that people recommend (if you don't want to make your own)
